A fully functional emergency room is reopening in Long Beach for the first time since Sandy.
The new 24-hour emergency room opens Monday at 9 a.m.
The new facility will be able to receive ambulances through the 911 system. 
The Long Beach Emergency Department also has private treatment areas, a special room for infectious diseases, a medical lab and a trauma room.
