An electric failure is thought to be the cause of fire that completely destroyed ambulances in Inwood Friday morning.
Fire officials received a call at around 3:30 a.m. for multiple ambulances on fire on Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood.
They say it took them more than 1 ½ hours to put out the flames at the private ambulance company First Response Ambulance.
The owner of the company says it didn't have any problems with that particular vehicle until early this morning.
Four ambulances were destroyed and several other vehicles also caught fire at the scene. There were no injuries.
