An elderly Old Brookville woman thwarted an armed home invasion Tuesday.
The 75-year-old victim said she refused to give up when a robber entered her home and searched for cash. As the man raced upstairs, the victim said she managed to lock herself in the kitchen and dial 911, despite being bound and gagged. She was not harmed.
"He pushed me to the walker and taped my wrists and put tape over my mouth," the woman said. "He said he was going to shoot my freakin' head off!"
Old Brookville police arrested 32-year-old Pedro Gomez, of Port Washington, along with his alleged co-conspirator, Antonio Russo, 58, of Freeport. Police expect to make more arrests.
