An elderly couple was found dead inside their Jericho home Saturday. Officers discovered 85-year-old Morton Licht and his 83-year-old wife Muriel upstairs in their bedroom. The couple's son had been unable to reach his parents from out of state and asked a neighbor to ring the doorbell. Andrew Edson was the neighbor who called 911. He says he went to check on the couple and saw the air conditioner was on and two days of mail and newspapers were piled up. Police aren?t sure what caused the couple?s death. They say carbon monoxide tests came back negative. They are waiting for test results from the medical examiner?s office. Police do not believe anything criminal happened.
