An elderly Bronx woman has gone missing from Roosevelt Island while visiting her son.
According to family members, 88-year-old Romena Wiley has suffered from increased memory loss over the past few months.
They say she wandered away from her son's apartment Friday evening, but has never done anything like that before. One of her sons says she often leaves her apartment when she wants to go for a walk, and then waits by the elevator or stairs for someone to follow.
Her son says that train station surveillance video shows that Wiley made a left turn toward the F subway line. He says she only had $9 on her at the time, but believes she is coherent enough to ask for directions back home.
Anyone with information on Wiley and her whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
