The Glen Cove Landing Elementary School has partnered with volunteers from the Glen Cove Senior Center for an inter-generational program that encourages students and seniors to learn more about each other.
The students and seniors work together for about 40 minutes one day a week on improving the children's reading skills.
Senior volunteer Floyd Green is a retired principal from the Glen Cove School District with 40 years of educational experience. He says the program helps build children's literacy while giving seniors something fun to do.
