Leaders from around the state gathered in Uniondale for the annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) convention Friday.Education was the major focus, particularly the problem of getting more funds for Long Island's cash-poor minority school districts. Other topics discussed include education, unemployment, taxes and lack of health care in lower income areas. The 70th Annual NAACP convention runs through Sunday at the Long Island Marriot in Uniondale.
