Some East Rockaway students are paying forward the kindness shown to those affected by Superstorm Sandy to the victims of the EF-5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma last month.
After showing the footage of the tornado to students at East Rockaway High School, teacher Don Poland says the students were inspired to raise money and set up donation drives for the victims.
So far they have raised about $10,000 and have collected goods that they plan to hand-deliver to the people of Moore, Okla.
Poland says they are hoping that someone will donate a truck for the trip.
The May 20 storm killed 24, displaced 3,000 people and destroyed more than 1,700 homes.
