A woman out for a walk with her husband in East Quogue was dragged to the ground and mauled by two pit bulls on Monday evening.
Anne Cooke, 67, was attacked by the dogs on West End Avenue. Southampton police say it took several neighbors and the owner of the dogs to pull them off Cooke, who was bitten on the head, left ear, neck and other parts of her body.
The dogs? owner says they were inside the house but managed to break free and attack Cooke in front of his home. Southampton Town animal control took the dogs into custody. Police have issued their owner a summons for keeping the dogs unleashed.
