An East Patchogue father was shot to death and his 3-year-old was found sleeping next to the lifeless body.
Carlton Shaw was found near the side door of his Amsterdam Avenue home. According to investigators, Shaw failed to pick up his 5-year-old at daycare Tuesday so a neighbor gave the child a lift home.
When the neighbor went to drop the child off, he spotted Shaw's body on the lawn. Shaw had been shot in the chest.
