The East Meadow Senior Center is shutting its doors after 20 years.
Town of Hempstead officials say they could not strike a rental agreement with the owners of the building.
A previous agreement allowed the town to use the facility for free, but that contract expired.
The center is slated to shut down on Wednesday. Seniors will have the option to be bused to another senior center 3 miles away.
