One day after freezing rain and snow made their mark on Valentine's Day, thousands of travelers remained trapped at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens.
The storm caused hundreds of flight cancellations across New York-area airports. Taiana Borges, of East Hampton, was stuck on a plane to Brazil for four hours before the flight was called off at 2 a.m. Borges says airline personnel then lost her luggage containing all her warm clothes. Reactions among the frustrated travelers were mixed, with many attempting to stay positive.
With continued flight delays expected through the week's end, airports recommend travelers call their carriers before leaving home.
