Gov. Kathy Hochul said businesses, towns, cities, and counties are now able to make their own decisions on masking and vaccine requirements.
However, the East Hampton Town Supervisor has announced that a mask requirement will remain in effect at town facilities for now.
Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc said "The town will take a cautious approach, and will wait until the number of COVID-19 cases falls below 10 per 100,000 before modifying or lifting the overall indoor mask mandate at town facilities."
