Nikki Andruskiewicz may own her own company, but it all started with her just trying to be a good mom.

Her daughter was diagnosed with a fragrance allergy and got bad reactions to not only perfumes and lotions, but also detergents and even toothpaste.

After a lot of research, Nikki started using essential oils to make her own cleaning products that smelled nice and didn't harm her daughter.

One of the those products she now sells - soap.

The Peconic River Soap Company started in 2018.

She creates a base of oils, water and lye. And she uses locally grown products to give each soap a unique fragrance or color.

Nikki sells her soaps online and at farmers markets.
