A Smithtown nonprofit received some help from a devoted Eagle Scout in building a storage unit for some very important equipment.
Dan Keenan helped to build a shed for the Society for Lending Comforts to the Sick in order to store extra equipment, which includes wheelchairs, walkers, canes and commodes for the community.
The nonprofit's first shed was damaged after a tree fell on it.
Keenan, along with some fellow scouts, helped to build a new storage space.
"It's been a long and windy road to get here and I'm happy to see it's coming just about a close. Sure, there's a couple extra things I have to do. But I'm happy to see it's finally coming to an end," Keenan said.
The shed's construction will fulfill Keenan's Eagle Project requirement.
