The slick road conditions have greatly improved, but drivers should be aware of leftover patches of black ice.
The city's Department of Sanitation was spreading salt throughout the night, ensuring that there is not a repeat of the ice rink conditions experienced by drivers across the borough Sunday.
Everyone heading outdoors is still encouraged to take it slow, especially on side streets and sidewalks. The less traveled the area, the less likely it is that ice spots will be broken up.
The slippery conditions will continue to improve as the day goes on and the temperature warms up.
