Good news for travelers: drivers are paying the lowest Labor Day gas prices in a dozen years.
The average U.S. gas price fell to $2.20 today, the lowest Labor Day price since 2004.
On Long Island, the average gas price is $2.35.
AAA predicts over 35 million people are on the road this holiday weekend - the most since 2008.
If you're taking the Long Island Rail Road today, remember that trains will operate on a regular holiday schedule.
Also, westbound Montauk trains that normally operate on Sundays during the summer will run this afternoon.
