A driver's education teacher from Bay Shore has been accused of committing a lewd act during a lesson with a teen girl in the car.
Jeffrey Hinch, 29, was held overnight Friday at the Seventh Precinct after being hit with the charges.
Police say the act happened Tuesday, when the East Meadow Driving School employee picked up a 16-year-old female student at her Huntington home for a driving course.
News 12 is told that during the instruction, the student saw Hinch commit a lewd act. Police say Hinch took the student back to her house without further incident. Afterwards, the girl called the police.
Hinch has been charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.
News 12’s Virginia Huie attempted to speak with someone at the driving school, but was told “no comment” from someone in the building. Calls to the school were not returned.
Police say there may be more alleged victims. They're asking anyone who believes they may be a victim of Hinch to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
