Police are searching for the driver of a stolen SUV after a deadly hit-and-run in North Amityville.
Police say Reginald Celifie was driving a Honda just after 6 p.m. Tuesday when he collided with a Chevy Trailblazer at the intersection of Brefni Street and Geraldine Avenue.
Celifie was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say the driver of the SUV was seen running away from the crash.
Family members say Celifie was on his way to pick up his mother and take her out to dinner. They are urging the SUV driver to turn himself in.
"How can you live with this on your conscience that you just killed somebody?" asks Dominique Bonapart, the victim's sister-in-law.
Authorities say the Trailblazer was reported stolen earlier this month. Anyone with information can call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
