A Hempstead man is facing criminal charges for intentionally killing the boyfriend of his former girlfriend early Sunday morning, police say.
Police say Ludwin Marcia, 34, was riding his bicycle when Lorenzo Tobar, 36, allegedly hit him with his Toyota sports utility vehicle. Marcia was then dragged by Tobar's car as it crashed into four parked cars, according to police. Marcia was taken to Winthrop University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say Tobar is the ex-boyfriend of Marcia's girlfriend with whom he has an 11-year-old child. He is charged with second degree murder, vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
