Dozens of people gathered for the Town of Islip's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony to mark 22 years since the attacks.
The ceremony was held at Veterans Memorial Park. It was one of many ceremonies held across Long Island.
Leaders say the vow to never forget must be upheld every year.
"Because we vowed then and every day since, we will never forget," says Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. "And you being here today makes sure we never forget that pledge."
The names of 90 Town of Islip residents are etched into a memorial.
