A pedestrian was killed in a domino-like accident in Valley Stream Friday evening.
Police say a 15-year-old was struck on East Merrick Road near Railroad Avenue around 7 p.m.
The girlfriend of the driver of a red van involved in the incident says a car that sped away from a bank cut off the van. She says this caused her boyfriend to swerve onto the curb and hit a parked car. It was the parked car that proceeded to hit the teenage victim, she says.
News 12 Long Island has received unconfirmed reports that the car that cut off the van was stolen, and that driver was apprehended by New York City police officers in Queens.
