The small dog named "Miracle," who was left in a dumpster, is reportedly going up for adoption on the Island.

As News 12 has reported, the 1-year-old Lhasa Apso was thrown into the trash behind a gas station in West Islip last month.

An Islip Animal Shelter attendant, Michael Papini, is charged with dumping the dog.

Miracle is now looking for a permanent home.

According to sources, the Islip Animal Shelter is now screening potential adopters.
