Police say they've made an arrest in a burglary case with the help of DNA evidence recovered at the scene.
Authorities say 21-year-old Gabriel Tavarez, of Baldwin, broke into a house on Westside Avenue in Freeport back in May. He allegedly stole electronics and a wrestling belt.
Police say DNA evidence at the scene led them to arrest Tavarez at his Baldwin home on Saturday morning.
He is charged with second-degree burglary and criminal possession of stolen property.
