The location for Saturday’s posthumous ordination of rapper and Yonkers native Earl “DMX” Simmons has been changed.
Organizers say the event will now take place at Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown. It was originally scheduled for Foster Memorial AME Zion Church, but leaders of the New York region of the AME Zion Church denied use of the space.
The decision followed a social media post shared by DJ Envy of The Breakfast Club that showed Deacon Earl “DMX” Simmons in a ministerial robe and collar.
Saturday’s ordination will begin at 3 p.m.
