Some Dix Hills residents say they may have foiled another planned house party, just one week after a person was shot in the arm at another party.
The 400-person party last weekend that ended in violence was held at a home on Langhans Court. News 12 reported that a similar party advertised online was planned for this weekend.
Hubert Garisma has lived in a home on Clayton Drive for 10 years, renting a room from the homeowners, who also live in the house. He says two people moved in last month.
“I don't really know them, but they were set up to have the party going on today,” he told News 12.
The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, says that they aren’t the type of family that would throw a raging 400-person party. She's owned the house for 11 years and began renting out another room last month for extra income. She found out about the plan for a party after a portable toilet was delivered to her driveway.
When the homeowners found out what this party could entail, they put up no trespassing signs and called police.
“I signed a no trespass order to make sure nobody comes on the property, making sure I'm home all day today to deter that from happening,” she told News 12.
Suffolk County police vehicles could be seen on Langhans Court and on Clayton Drive. It's not clear if the two parties are related.
The address for the house was listed on an event website for a party planned in early August. The homeowners say they knew nothing about it.
