Neighbors in Dix Hills are telling News 12 that they are worried about another incident taking place at an upcoming house party, just one week after a person was shot.
Authorities say 400 people attended a party last weekend at Langhans Court when a fight broke out. It ended with one person being shot in the arm.
Diane Lettieri, who lives on the street, says she's seen online advertising of yet another party set for this coming Saturday. She says some advertisements she has seen say the party is in Dix Hills while others say it is in Oyster Bay. It appears you need to buy a ticket to find out the exact location.
Last weekend’s party was advertised in a similar way.
Lettieri says she emailed Oyster Bay Public Safety.
“Evidently, this has been going on all over Long Island," says Lettieri.
Suffolk police put their own flyers in the mailboxes of the homes on Langhans Court to say they will be stepping up patrols in the days and weeks to come. Police say they're working to discourage the massive house parties in the future.
Chief Stuart Cameron says police are still looking for the shooter from Saturday.
