A Roosevelt priest accused of possessing child pornography on his personal computer pleaded guilty to all charges Thursday.
Thomas Saloy admitted to downloading more than 600 pictures and videos to his computer at the Most Holy Rosary Church. Saloy's lawyer claims the pastor never approached anyone for inappropriate contact, either in person or electronically. Federal prosecutors contend Saloy chatted with multiple minors online, who were actually undercover agents. Saloy will be treated at a sexual disorder hospital for clerics in Maryland until his sentencing hearing in March. He faces up to 10 years behind bars.
Parishioners say they are shaken and upset by Saloy's betrayal. They say the incident has damaged both their trust in the church and their faith.
