A Bay Shore man injured an officer in Massapequa while trying to flee from police, detectives say.
They say officers pulled over Dennis Zvonik for speeding on Sunrise Highway Thursday around 8 p.m.
News 12 is told Zvonik, 43, attempted to run away, but was stopped.
Officials say there was a struggle and an officer suffered cuts and bruises.
Police say a woman and Zvonik's 12-year-old son were in the car when the incident occurred.
