A longtime firefighter is doing all he can to help his wife win her battle with leukemia, and the entire fire department is pitching in to help out the family.

Joe DeSantis is a firefighter with the Bayport Fire Department. His wife Rebecca is battling leukemia, and her husband says it's actually her fourth battle with cancer. Her first diagnosis came when she was just 15 years old.

DeSantis says his wife is the strongest woman he's ever met, and they are both so thankful that the community is rallying to support them during this difficult time.

On Saturday, fellow firefighters transformed the fire department to hold a benefit dinner and Chinese auction that will help pay for DeSantis' medical bills.
