A man has been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly stealing more than $150,000 from a house of worship in Nassau County.
Rami Mohamad, 43, of Deer Park, stole bank account information from the Chabad of Roslyn to pay off his personal debt, prosecutors say.
Mohamad wrote himself checks and made 350 unauthorized transactions on a debit card, according to the Nassau District Attorney’s office.
The Chabad had hired the man as a handyman to perform various repairs and carpentry work.
He faces 5 to 15 years in prison if convicted.
