Deer Park High School student wins gold medal in taekwondo tournament in Romania

Kayla Tyson's dream is to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in women's taekwondo.

Kayla Tyson, of Deer Park, is now a gold medal winner.
The 16-year-old Deer Park High School student recently won a gold medal at a taekwondo competition in Romania.
"I prepared and trained every day after school, it was a lot of hard work and determination," explained Tyson.
The Deer Park student's dream is to compete in the 2028 Olympic Summer Games, which will be held in Los Angeles, California.
"It's always been my childhood dream to be in the Olympics. I really hope I will be able to do that because it's been one of my biggest dreams," added Tyson.
Tyson is now training for a tournament in January of next year in hopes of securing a spot on the USA National Team.
