A family in Deer Park is left with a big mess after a delivery of unwanted wood debris was left in their driveway.
Crystal Wagner says she asked Triple-A Cheap Tree Landscaping for clean, even-sized wood chips to provide a safe bedding for her daughter?s swing set. However, she says what she received was 30 yards of ground up twigs, leaves and dangerous looking wood shards.
Wagner says she has received cleanup estimates ranging between $750 and $2,500. Suffolk Consumer Affairs officials say that since landscapers give away wood chips for free and there was no contract, there is nothing they can do to help. Triple-A Cheap Tree has offered to pick up the debris and replace it with clean chips for $150.
