The deep freeze is causing many problems for Long Islanders.
The water is back up and running in Valley Stream and Malverne today after workers battled bitter cold temperatures to fix a water main break on Monday.
The break happened at the corner of Cornwell Avenue and East Dover Street in Valley Stream.
Officials tell News 12 repairs are still going on and some homes may experience pressure fluctuations.
Meanwhile, the weather made firefighting difficult throughout the area.
Volunteers braved the cold temperatures on Monday to battle a fire on Evelyn Road in Mineola.
