The daughter of a deceased Nassau County detective has pleaded guilty to fraud.

Alayne Bertolino admitted to stealing her father’s pension checks for over four years following his death.

When Detective Joseph Bertolino retired, his pension checks were deposited into a joint account with his daughter.

An investigation found that by keeping her father’s death a secret, Alayne Bertolino received 56 pension payments totaling nearly $250,000.
