Even as the rain passes, Isaias will continue to churn up our waters and create dangerous conditions.
Strong rip tides are being caused by the storm, and dangerous water conditions may pick up later into the evening, with high tide at 8:45 p.m.
At Robert Moses, people were seen venturing into the rough waters, even though that has been disallowed. Lifeguards remained on high alert to keep people from heading in.
"Observe the surf, enjoy nature, but definitely don't get involved in the water today," said one lifeguard.
Despite the warnings, one experienced surfer told News 12 Long Island that they "live for these days."
