A convicted sex offender from Oceanside, who prosecutors say admitted to having AIDS, was arraigned Thursday on charges he allegedly had sex with a teen boy.
Robert Musmacker, a Level 3 sex offender, was pulled over by police for speeding on the Southern State Parkway on Dec. 28. During the stop, a 16-year-old boy was found in the car, and authorities now say Musmacker had sex with that boy.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says Musmacker admitted to the state trooper who pulled him over that he had full-blown AIDS and had open lesions in his mouth.
Spota says there is at least one more victim and believes there may be even more. Any parents whose children may have had contact with Musmacker, who worked as a newspaper deliveryman, are asked to call the New York State Police Major Case Bureau at 631-756-3390.
Police say Musmacker, 36, was convicted in 1992 for sodomizing an 11-year-old girl. He was sentenced to three to nine years in prison for that crime. In the latest case, Musmacker was charged with multiple counts of engaging in a criminal sex act and reckless endangerment. He pleaded not guilty and is held on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond.
