A former Freeport middle school principal has admitted to having sex with an underage teen boy.
The Nassau County District Attorney's Office says John O'Mard pleaded guilty to several felony counts of criminal sex acts for having sex with the 16-year-old last year. He also admitted to lying about his criminal past to keep his job.
O'Mard had prior larceny convictions, and allegedly used fake fingerprints to get the position at the school. He was the principal of J.W. Dodd Middle School when he had nonconsensual sex with the teen at his home, prosecutors say.
As part of a plea deal, O'Mard is expected to get 60 days in jail and 10 years probation when he is sentenced in February.
