All charges were dropped against a Suffolk man who was arrested after shooting cellphone video of another arrest.
Thomas Demint recorded the arrest of a mother and son in Center Moriches back in May 2014.
Demint claimed police slammed him into the ground and tried to erase the video. He was subsequently arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest.
The Suffolk DA dismissed the charges today "in the interest of justice."
"It's a term used by the district attorney when they have nothing else to say except 'hey we were wrong,'" says Ken Mollins, Demint's attorney.
Mollins says a lawsuit against Suffolk County and the police department is planned. He's expected to speak about it Monday.
