Gov. Andrew Cuomo called on state lawmakers Wednesday to protect women's rights.
The governor made his call at a rally in Farmingdale.
Cuomo was joined by supporters as he asked New York lawmakers to reconvene and pass a measure protecting a woman's right to choose.
He says the Republican-controlled Senate has dragged its feet on the issue.
"They won't allow a vote. Why? Because they don't want people to be counted on the issue" says Cuomo.
Cuomo also signed a measure Wednesday guaranteeing a woman's right to emergency contraception in New York.
