Croton-on-Hudson parents discuss whether controversial sex education lesson appropriate for class

Parents in Croton-on-Hudson didn't hold back at a board meeting Thursday night about a controversial sex education lesson.
Some people say they think the lesson isn't appropriate for class while others say it’s best for kids to learn it in a safe space like school.
A photo of a whiteboard from a health class shows various sex acts, some described with expletives.
The district says as part of the curriculum, students write down words they've heard associated with sex, then they discuss. Some students say it helps address questions they have about things they've learned online that might not be accurate.
The district says it supports curriculum, which was created years ago after an off-campus assault with input from health education and mental health professionals.
It says, in part, "Learning experiences such as this are important for our students."
Some of the parents told News 12 there are other ways to teach sex education, but others still defended the district.
No decision was made at the board meeting, it was just a chance for people to share their thoughts.
