(10/26/06) MINEOLA - Critics are calling Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi's 2007 budget proposal his riskiest yet after he revealed the plan Thursday.

The Nassau Interim Finance Authority assessed the executive's $2.5 billion budget. Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) says while the proposal is not as conservative as in previous years, Suozzi has yet to miss a financial goal he set out for.

The police union expressed dislike for the 2007 plan. Police union officials and Suozzi have often been at odds during his two terms, and the union says the $25 million in proposed contract cuts are unacceptable.
