Firefighters from several departments battled two separate house fires that erupted Sunday night in Riverhead.

Members of the Wading River Fire Department responded to Longview Drive around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a blaze on the rear deck had spread into the home.

While still working on the fire, the department was notified of another on North Side Road in Wading River.

One firefighter was injured while responding to the blaze. The department says all units were back in service by 10 p.m.
