Court documents reveal that a Suffolk teenager admitted to being an aspiring terrorist and plotting to kill Americans.
Justin Kaliebe, 18, of Babylon, pleaded guilty in a secret court hearing in Central Islip last February. He said he met with others in Suffolk County to discuss ways to help al-Qaeda.
The court proceedings had been sealed due to national security concerns until a federal judge released a partial transcript yesterday.
Kaliebe was arrested by the FBI at John F. Kennedy International Airport last January when he tried to fly to Oman before traveling on to Yemen.
News 12 has learned that an attorney for Kaliebe says his client was diagnosed with autism as a child. He's awaiting the results of a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation after which he may seek to withdraw the guilty plea.
