A couple has been arrested in a violent attack at a Suffolk laundromat.
The arrests come one week after the assault of an employee at Dirt Busters laundromat, where surveillance video shows her getting punched in the face and fighting back.
Police say 35-year-old Daniel McIntyre and 36-year-old Nikki Weber, both of Centereach, are the suspects in the video. McIntyre is charged with robbery and assault. Weber is charged with criminal solicitation for allegedly bringing McIntyre to the laundromat when she was in a dispute over damaged clothing.
Kathy Fitzpatrick, who was inside folding laundry at the time, said it all happened fast.
"It was just chaos," she said. "He just came in, it was really an attack."
She says as soon as Weber and McIntyre left, she locked the back door and started to take pictures.
"...hoping to get a license plate so that they could track them down," she said. "I'm glad it helped."
The owner of Dirt Busters says he's grateful for the arrests and would like more patrols from police officers at night. He said the attendants are left alone, and, "it would be nice for them to pop their head in once in a while."
The victim told News 12 she's looking forward to getting back to work.
A Suffolk County police spokeswoman says that a patrol check has been entered for the business where the incident happened, with particular attention on weekends when the location is open later.
