Hempstead Town Councilwoman Erin King Sweeney released a statement Sunday regarding a controversial comment that was posted by her Facebook account on a News 12 Long Island story.
An image was posted from her account in the comment section of a News 12 story covering the alleged mauling of an Oceanside woman’s Yorkie by a pit bull. The image appears to make fun of the attack, showing a woman doing what appears to be a celebratory dance.
She has since released a statement that reads: “Earlier today it appears that my Facebook account was hacked and a disgraceful reaction to the story regarding the tragic mauling of the yorkie Chloe somehow posted. We are looking into what happened here and are taking all possible measures to prevent future hacking. I send my sympathies to the Mann family of Oceanside for their loss.”
