Costello's Ace Hardware gave Island Harvest more than $21,000 to fight food insecurity.
Long Islanders raised the donation by simply rounding up their totals at the register.
"We really like to give back to our communities. We're a family business, it's really important to us to give back where we can locally. This is a really great organization," said employee Larissa Kappel.
Some workers also donated their time at the food bank's farm in Brentwood.
