Fears over the spread of the coronavirus have led some Long Island residents to rethink their vacation plans.
Colleen Zioba, of Miller Place, and her family booked a cruise bound for Bermuda that is set to depart in May. She says they're monitoring the situation day by day, and could ultimately postpone or outright cancel the trip.
"It is all we talk about. Are we going on the slides? Are we going swimming with the dolphins?" says Zioba.
Zioba says they go on a cruise almost every year, but she's not sure the stress is worth it.
"When you go on vacation, you want to relax, and have fun and enjoy yourself, and with that anxiety in the background, can you do that?" says Zioba. "We'll make the decision when we feel we're just ready to throw in the towel."

The situation is even more difficult for Maria Michta-Coffey. The Lake Grove woman is a two-time Olympic race-walker who is qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
"The first step is to make the Olympic team, then you can sift through all the data afterwards. Japan is still a ways away from China, we're still months away," says Michta-Coffey. "China is doing the as best they can with the quarantine."
For now, officials say the Olympics will take place, but the International Olympic Committee is closely monitoring the situation.
"At the end of the day, as an athlete you just keep training, and you just hope everything gets sorted out by then," says Michta-Coffey.
Experience may serve Michta-Coffey well as she continues to prepare. In 2016 when the Olympics were in Brazil, there were concerns of the Zika virus. She still was able to compete.
Coronavirus fears could also have an impact on study abroad programs, but Hofstra University says there have been no changes to this point.
