A Coram mother is facing charges Friday for allegedly leaving her two young children home alone for hours.Police say 24-year-old Jennifer Gonzales left her sons, ages 5 and 2, home for almost three hours Thursday while she went to get a manicure. According to authorities, a neighbor called police to the Polk Court home after hearing a child screaming for at least an hour.Police say Gonzales told them she got mad at her boyfriend for leaving the apartment to play football, so when her kids fell asleep she went out to get her nails done because she couldn't deal with supervising her sons.
Gonzales pleaded not guilty to child endangerment charges. Police say Child Protective Services is investigating. The children are with their father, Gonzales? boyfriend.
