A Holtsville woman is facing a slew of charges after she allegedly drove drunk with her young daughter in the car and stole items from a grocery store.
Officers say they received a call about an intoxicated driver on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma around 5 p.m. Saturday. The 911 caller followed the driver, Justine Connors, into the parking lot of the Stop and Shop supermarket on Portion Road.
Patrol officers located the vehicle while Connors was in the store. She soon returned to her gray Nissan Frontier, and officers determined that she was intoxicated and had been driving with her 5-year-old daughter in the car.
Connors was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. She was also charged with criminal contempt for violating an order of protection that prohibited her from being under the influence in her daughter's presence.
Police say Connors was further charged with petit larceny because she allegedly took merchandise from Stop and Shop and left without paying for the items.
Connors was taken to the Fourth Precint and is scheduled to be arraigned today. Her daughter was released to a family member.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact detectives at 631-854-8452.
